Nurturing & Preserving Our Sacred Space

As we approach Guruji's Birthday and the celebration of Maha Shivaratri, we are reaching out to our cherished community for support during a critical time.

At present, our Income and Operating account reserves are dwindling, and our expenses are soaring. Our Winter Reserve is nearly depleted, and while we have managed to allocate funds wisely, we find ourselves facing three unforeseen and substantial expenses.

  1. Main House Stairs and Walkway Replacement: The stairs, walkway and retaining wall into the Main House urgently need replacement, as the current condition poses safety concerns. Estimates for this project, considering road work and drainage issues, indicate a potentially high cost. Immediate attention is necessary, and we aim to complete this task as early as spring. Approximately $30,000
  2. Septic Tank Replacement at Sapphire House: We are in the process of gathering estimates for the replacement of the septic tank at Sapphire House, and the projected cost ranges between $8,500 and
    $10,000. This essential repair is urgent, and we anticipate completing it in the next few weeks.
  3. Install UV System at Panini House: Board of health required for well water. Approximately $7,000

Guruji's teachings, the Cosmic Temple, and the Temple of Light all find their home in this sacred space.     Let us celebrate the life and legacy of our founder, Shri Brahmananda Sarasvati. This year marks his centennial birthday, and we are committed to raising $100,000 in his honor to support the ashram and its mission.

    Our founder was a highly respected spiritual teacher and a pioneer in integrating Eastern and Western sciences, culture, and philosophy. He established the Yoga Society of New York, Inc. in 1958 and its country center, Ananda Ashram, in 1964. He also inspired several other centers of meditation in the United States and abroad.
